Great location, just a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Duluth. The hotel room was immaculate, with all the amenities that you need for a romantic escape. The view from our room was breathtaking, surrounded by nothing but nature. The on-site restaurant offered a wide variety of dishes and the breakfast buffet was top-notch. We loved the fact that the hotel was situated in a quiet and safe area, perfect for an intimate getaway.
The only negative aspect we experienced was the lack of entertainment options after dinner. There wasn't much to do in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, and the drive to downtown Duluth was not ideal for a night out.

Always Impressed...
In general: We've stayed here several times when in the area riding motorcycles this was our first snowmobile trip stay. From my phone reservation call with Lindsay to the warm reception from the maintenance guy and the desk clerk the service was exceptional. We wondered into the Black Woods Grill and the experience got even better. An engaged young lady took our order with a smile, checked back regularly and served some of the best food we've ever had on a trip. We used the hot tube and pool every night, ate there and never really had to leave for anything. Awesome!!! Location and surroundings: The snowmobile trail runs right to the motel with 2 gas stations a stone's throw away. Nice big parking lot with a power hook up for our trailer and diesel truck. A quick run north to Fish Lake and great trails all the way to Silver Bay and beyond. Service: Rooms were super clean with good showers. Everyone was accommodating. We had guys loose room keys and they fixed us right up. The staff was great. Dining: I can count on 1 hand the number of motels I will eat at...this one is the tops! The wait staff was amazing. We ate in the bar, Whitney and Mc Kenzie switched TVs for us, kept the beer coming and were fun to have serving us. They showed a real interest in making our stay a good one. RARE these days. Sports and leisure: Close enough to everything but far enough out of Duluth to navigate with a truck and trailer. Room: Clean and functional. Useful tips: Trails are smoothest during the week. They get pretty beat up on the weekends. Have the Walleye sandwich. :)

The room was cozy, clean, and well-equipped with a refrigerator and coffee maker. The location was perfect, easily accessible and with a beautiful view. The staff was very helpful, making our stay comfortable and pleasant.
There was no elevator, making it difficult to carry our luggage up to the second floor. the breakfast was quite average, lacking variety and flavor.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. the staff was incredible and went above and beyond to help me when my car broke down. They were compassionate, engaged, and really comforting during a stressful time. Secondly, the hotel itself was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. I never even knew it was fully booked. Lastly, the location was great. It was accessible and just a quick drive into the nearby city, with woods on one side of the parking lot where I could see rabbits and birds.
No negatives, everything was perfect.

The location of this hotel is perfect. It's close to Skyline drive and taking backroads to downtown is a breeze. Plus, it's conveniently located near a really great steakhouse. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with nicely tiled showers in the bathrooms. The staff is friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist. The breakfast choices are varied and satisfying, ensuring you have a good start to your day.
The views from the hotel are somewhat lacking.
